PLATE

Solutions

Our victories make us a rare find in the industry today, from developing the first plate to print half-tone dots on corrugated, to the achievement of our patented plate technologies. We’ve spent years developing superior plate solutions for better, cleaner print results for our clients.

We are ever-hungry to find new ways to enhance print quality, fuel innovation, decrease downtime and increase profitability.

“It’s wonderful to have a partner that can help us achieve such tight timeframes. The PRP team pulls out all the stops to get orders to us quickly. We really appreciate that extra effort.”

PLATE INNOVATIONS

Digital Plates

PRP offers a full-range of digital photopolymer plates for corrugated, web, folding carton, and coating processes. Combined with our patented flat-top-dot technology, Digital ExSpect®, immediate improvements in print quality can be realized. In addition, with the right handling and care, PRP plates have recorded over 1.7 million impressions, and counting.

Patented

The FIRST Digital flat-top-dot plate technology available anywhere, supports a successful strategy to infuse print quality for all flexographic print processes in combination with our unique pre-media expertise.

provides a huge advantage over all other plate technologies, utilizing a truly linear process, printing crisper, cleaner, and longer while reducing dot gain and virtually eliminating “fluting” specifically on corrugated.

When converting from Litho to Pre-Print or Direct Print, paves the way without compromising print quality, keeping your print in control.

Liquid Plates

Long a mainstay in the flexographic printing industry, liquid phtopolymer plates continue to be offered by PRP for a multitude of reasons. Available in a range of calipers, this durable plate incorporates sustainability, as unused resin is reclaimed, in addition to utilizing a water-washout process. Liquid Plates are known to be softer than digital plates, which can be beneficial when printing on coarse or uneven surfaces.

Zero-Floor Plates

For customers looking to reduce the weight of their plates for safety and ease of handling, PRP offers zero-floor plates in varying calipers. All non-print areas are gradually washed down to the floor, creating a plate that is up to 40% lighter, and extremely resilient. Zero-floor plates are also environmentally friendly, and available in both liquid and sheet materials for a wide range of printing options.

Targeted specifically at the needs of flexible packaging, plates utilize an engineered plate surface texture that allows better ink transfer and density without excessive dot gain, keeping halftones open and details at their maximum.

plates are especially useful when printing on foils or clear substrates where the opacity of a white backer substrate determines the overall brightness of the image.

LED Exposure

Using LED Exposure not only reduces energy consumption during plate processing, it also creates a more consistent and repeatable product time after time. Additionally, LED bank-lighting systems offer more uniformity of light exposure vs. the traditional tube fluorescent bank light exposure, which have varying lifespans.

Precision Plate Trimming

PRP offers plate trimming, so you don’t have to. Our team works in lock-step with our customers to ensure once plates arrive, they are ready to be mounted onto your sleeves or cylinders, resulting in much shorter make-ready times, and helping to reduce changeover from job to job.

PrintMount™

“PrintMount™ is our proprietary plate mounting system designed to make plate repair faster, easier and more cost-effective. Unlike traditional plates that may require a full remake or create the need to ship plates back for repair – PrintMount™ plates are produced with a printed guide on the backing that allows damaged areas to be seamlessly replaced. This reduces downtime, lowers shipping costs and extends plate life.
